KALAMAZOO, Mich., Oct. 1.Issue No. 182 (since September 1983) of Sid
Cato’s Newsletter on Annual Reports, published here, contains names of the more than a
dozen men and women in the annual report business who have signed up ("paid," according to Cato) for his year-hence conference.
Conference No. 11, just concluded, was his second in a row to be held at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta. No. 12, set for Sept. 15-17, 1999, will be in New Orleansat its Omni Royal Orleans Hotel on the edge of the city’s fabled French Quarter. Cato said his 1992 conference likewise was at the Omni Royal Orleans. The founder and editor/publisher of the industry monthly annually picks the 10 best and 10 worst reports for Chief Executive. One choice the magazine’s editors took exception to, according to Cato, was his naming of the Tenneco, Inc., 1997 report"for the second year in a row"to the list of world’s worst. Never one to take defeat quietly, Cato featured on Pg. 1 of the October issue his analysis of the Tenneco report. Subscribers around the world are encouraged to vote for or against his selection: either "Couldn’t agree more" or "Nope, you’re off base." |
